As a Compositing Artist, you will focus on integrating live-action, 3D, and digital matte painting elements to create a final shot. We’re also looking for a candidate capable of mentoring and training other artists!
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS
Our ideal candidate has:
• Solid knowledge of Nuke;
• Admirable understanding of photographic principles, image processing techniques, and CG Compositing techniques;
• Critical eye for detail!;
• Ability to detect errors and develop compositing strategy to get the best quality of the shot;

• Demonstrable ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas;

The main focus of the VFX Lighting Artist is shot lighting and rendering within pipeline using commercial and proprietary software and tools to light photorealistic CG in live action environments. Advanced knowledge of both traditional lighting and hdri based lighting using fg and gi techniques is required. Also knowledge of Maya software, Arnold, Redshift, Vray, Renderman i Mental Ray is required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs all aspects of lighting in shots;
• Performs rendering within a defined structure;
• Takes part in client reviews.
Job Description
VFX Coordinator provides support and reports to the VFX Producer and VFX Supervisor, assists VFX Producer in all management and coordinating responsibilities. Excellent knowledge of English, e-mail communication, Office packages, especially Excel and Word, are required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Keeps a list and status of shots, keeps track of artists’ assignments, and has an assessment of project status at any given moment;
• Defines, together with the producer, which documentation is required for a particular project;
• Coordinates and tracks all files coming out of the studio and delivers it to the client;
• Manages the scheduling and monitors the work of the artist: manages internal tasks concerning the shot; manages the project status and delivery deadlines;
• Keeps meetings on a daily basis, while managing notes;
• Coordinates artists and internal production staff to ensure efficient workflow, taking into account the amount of work of the individual artist as well as the completion of tasks;
• Implements project plans and keeps tracking deadlines and schedules, in order to complete the work within the agreed time.
Job Description
Maya Technical Director ideally should be a Maya expert. Maya TD will provide support related to Maya, scene layout, tracking, matchmoving, rigging, animation, modeling, lighting, dynamics, simulations, and will implement new tools and processes for a particular vfx or animation project or department.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support and lead a team of modelers, animators, lighters and texture artists and work with other department leads to ensure shots are delivered to the highest standard and deadlines are met in an effective and efficient manner;
• Assist artists in troubleshooting project and pipeline related issues;
• Work closely with the VFX Supervisor, department leads, coordinators and producers to implement, maintain and improve the production pipeline;
• Assist in training and mentoring entry level and junior staff;
• Reports to the VFX Supervisor.
QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong working knowledge of Maya is a must;
• Strong understanding of the CG production process;
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills and good problem-solving skills, both technical and artistic;
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, ability to teach/mentor, establish priorities, work independently or in a group, delegate tasks and work with minimal supervision;
• Good written and spoken English language communication skills are an advantage.
BONUS QUALIFICATION:
• Production experience in scene layout, rigging, animation, lighting, dynamics;
• MEL/Python scripting experience.
Job Description
The main focus of the Modeling Artist is to create photorealistic organic and hard surface models within Crater studio pipeline using commercial software and proprietary tools. The models may be organic in nature, such as various creatures or characters, or they may be hard surface models such as cars, buildings, props or sets. Modeling artists work very closely with other artists collaborating on the same model. He/She must be proficient in Maya software.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create photorealistic organic and hard surface models.
• Performs all tasks related to the creation of photorealistic organic and hard surface (inorganic) models;
• Texturing skills are advantageous
• Takes part in client reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a Modeling Artist
• Excellent Maya polygon and subdivision surface modeling skills and the ability to apply and manage UV’s is essential.
• Texturing skills are advantageous
• Thorough understanding of the modeling process and the ability to both interpret designs and accurately match photographic reference material.
• You must be able to work well within a team environment and take direction from Supervisors as appropriate.
• A familiarity with Mudbox and Zbrush are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English (verbal and written). Any other language is a plus.

Main responsibility of the 3D Generalist is to handle any general 3D tasks required. Professional knowledge of 3D software is required, especially Maya, Houdini or XSI software. General knowledge is required to enable an employee to complete tasks in multiple 3D areas, such as modeling, animation, texturing, lighting, and rendering.

Concept Artist designs characters, vehicles, environments and supporting elements of the shot. Professional use of Maya and Adobe Photoshop software is required, as well as excellent traditional sculpting and painting skills. He/She should be well versed in colors, lights, perspectives and compositions, and should have the skill to paint concepts for characters and environments.

• Creates a concept based on a written or verbal description from a client or supervisor;

• Creates coordinates in the relevant 3D program based on positioning points to allow CG geometry to fit into existing elements;
• Sets up virtual camera from data sheets and track camera motion;
• Renders track/matchmove over supplied plates for approval.

Matte Painter creates photo-real environments and landscapes exhibiting a strong foundation in photo-realistic traditional and digital art skills. He/She performs tasks related to integrating added imagery into a shot, preserving a unified sense of lighting, perspective, and color. As such, he/she must be proficient with Maya and Adobe Photoshop.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs all aspects of matte painting;
• Creates orthographic and additional material necessary to fully transmit design to digital departments;
• Creates compelling environments that seamlessly integrate into video content.
Job Description
Rigger creates rigs for characters, beings, and objects as preparation for animation. Excellent knowledge of Maya software and Mel programming language, as well as knowledge of animation and anatomy of living beings, is required.

• Creates and maintains efficient, elegant character rigs in Maya that fully support an animation style that reflects the tone and style throughout the project;

Roto artist works closely with Compositing Artists and prepares alpha masks and video material for further processing.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Makes coarse and precise alpha masks using software for rotoscoping;
• Removes rigs and wires using Nuke and other Paint software;
• Prepares material for Digital Artist from the beginning;
• Performs blue/green screen extractions;
• Creates seamless integration of live action, miniature and CGI sources;
• Performs all aspects of rotoscoping.

FX Texturer Artist creates textures for environments, characters, objects and and supporting elements of the shot using commercial and personalized software and tools to produce photorealistic textures. He/She uses Maya software, Photoshop, ZBrush, Mari, Mudbox, 3D Paint, UV Layout / Editing, RenderMan, Mental Ray, Shaders and Houdini in his/her work.
